Non Value Indicators (NVI Machins)
Non Value Indicators (NVIs) are stamps featuring a non-monetary face value such as 1st, 2nd, E, Signed For etc.
The first NVI was issued in 1989, featuring the Machin design.
NVIs are generally split in to two categories;
- Standard Perf NVIs - these are stamps with a typical perforation running along all four edges.
- Elliptical Perf NVIs - these feature an Ellipsis shaped perforation, usually at the bottom of both long sides.
Some NVIs also feature one or two imperforate edges, where the edge of the stamp is a straight cut instead of a perforated edge.
