King Edward VIII
King Edward 8th Stamps
Welcome to our King Edward VIII Stamps Collection, a portal to an intriguing period in philatelic history. King Edward VIII's brief reign in 1936 marked an unprecedented chapter in the British monarchy. Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David, as King Edward VIII was formally known, was a monarch with a passion for change and simplicity.
The single design that came to fruition reflects this; a simple pencil drawing of the King adapted from a photographic portrait. The regal framing of past monarchs is cast aside, with minimal text and only a small crown in the top corner to hint at the King's royal stature.
