Welcome to the August 2014 edition of the Albany Stamps collector e-newsletter.

We have lots of new stamp products being continually loaded onto www.albanystamps.co.uk . So do book mark our site so you can further explore at anytime our extensive increasing range of quality stamps at cheap prices.

The next Great Britain stamp issues to be aware of include:

There will be an issue of First World War commemorative stamps on the 28th July. It will be the first in a five part series of yearly issues up to 2018 that commemorates ‘the War to end all Wars’. Each year of the war will be commemorated by a set of six stamps, exploring six visual and thematic strands: poppy, poetry, portraits, war art, memorials and artefacts. This year’s issue includes 6 commemorative stamps: a 1st class painted poppy, a 1st class ‘for the fallen’ from the poem, a 1st class private William Cecil Tickle one of many killed in action, a £1.47 star shell painted battle scene by C R W Nevinson, a £1.47 The Response Memorial in Newcastle and a £1.47 Princess Mary’s Christmas gift fund box for soldiers on the front.. There is also a prestige stamp book, PHQ cards and first day covers.   

In September there will be on the 17th a Post & Go issue of Symbolic Flowers and on the 18th a ten stamp issue capturing the spirit of the seaside experience through the buildings and structures that are exclusive to, or very distinctive of, the UK’s resorts, which were designed for the pleasure of the visitor.

This months featured Society Stamps Fair & Auction:

Norfolk & Norwich Philatelic Society Stamp & Postcard Fair on Saturday 2nd August 10am to 4.30pm at Hewett School, Gate 1, Cecil Road, Norwich NR1 2PL.
