Albany Stamp News February 2014

Welcome to news about Great Britain stamps and new issues. Next GB stamp issues to be aware of:

A new set of Post & Go will be issued on the 19th February illustrating six Spring Blooms printed in a vertical strip and overprinted with First Class values. They are issued on a carrier complete with fascinating facts about each of these beautiful but in some cases declining species.

The next commemorative issue in March 2014 celebrates another selection of remarkable individuals from the realms of sport, design, economics, heroism and the arts. The 10 stamp set commemorates individuals who were born in 1914 includes Sir Alec Guiness, Kenneth More, Joan Littlewood, Roy Plomley who was  famous for creating the still-running radio programme Desert Island Discs. Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, football player and manager Joe Mercer, economist and broadcaster Barbara Ward, molecular biologist and Nobel laureate Max Perutz, Special Operations Executive agent Noorunissa Inayat Khan and graphic designer Abram Games who designed the Festival of Britain emblem, amongst many other posters.

There are plenty of new of new stamp issues and new products added to our site every month at www.albanystamps.co.uk covering GB folded and bar coded stamp booklets, First Day Covers, miniature sheets, commemoratives plus regionals and the Channel Islands.
